When it comes to our 2FA security, we use Google Authenticator.
In order to activate 2FA on your account, you must:
- Install Google Authenticator on your Smart phone/device (if you do not have this already installed) and then
- Go to your account on our website, under 'Security Settings' select the option to activate 2FA on your account and then scan the applicable QR code using you Google Authenticator App.
The process for installing the Google Authenticator App on your Smart Phone/Device is device dependent. Android/Windows Mobile users must access the Google Play Store while Apple Users, must use the Apple App Store.
Once Google Authenticator is installed on your Smart Phone/Device, you must:
- Log into your account (www.afriweb.co.za/login) and under 'Security Settings' select the “Enable Two-Factor Authentication” button.
- Select the “Get Started” button then on the Pop Up that appears.
- Open Google Authenticator on your Smart Phone/Device, scan the provided QR Code and then select 'Confirm'
- Enter the current 2FA code displayed on the Google Authenticator App and then select 'Confirm'.
Once confirmed, 2 Factor Authentication will be activated on your account.
Now each time you sign into your account, you must enter your user name/password as well as the 2FA code displayed in the Google Authenticator, at the time you are attempting to sign in.
